Celebrating the Life of Debbie Jensen, beloved mother, grandmother, wife and friend.

DEBORAH L. JENSEN, 64, died September 1, 2014 at home after a long illness. Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service is in charge of arrangements. Debbie Boyd was born on June 19, 1950 in Iowa City. She was the youngest daughter of Paul H. and Mary (Nortman) Boyd. Debbie is a 1968 graduate of Regina High School. On October 14, 1972, she married Richard Jensen of Iowa City. Debbie was a loving mother, wife, grandmother and friend. Her grandchildren, Isabel and Calvin, were the joy of her life. She was generous in spirit and always had a zest for life. Debbie worked for Johnson County for 45 years, first in the Recorder’s Office, then later in the Treasurer’s Office. Debbie loved life and was a very giving person. She was blessed with a great memory and never forgot a birthday or anniversary or special event in her family and friends lives. She will be missed by everyone. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Deborah Jensen Memorial Fund. Debbie is survived by her husband, Dick; her sons: Jeff (Barbara), and Dan (Nicole) and their children Isabel and Calvin, of the Milwaukee area, and Brother James, OSB of St. Meinrad Archabbey. Debbie is also survived by her siblings: Mary Ellen (Jim) Jensen, Bill (Sheila) Boyd of Iowa City; Margaret (Dick) McNamara, Mike (Sally) Boyd of Bettendorf, and Jerry (Linda) Boyd of Eldridge; Tom (Carole) Boyd of Burlington; sister-in-law, Marilyn Boyd of Iowa City; and several nieces and nephews. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Pat Boyd and beloved niece, Jeanne Jensen.
